a little fun in the sun
Well, today was in one word, great. We woke up around 11, heard it was going to rain, and hit the beach, very hard. I got thrashed in the 20 foot killer waves, er, no, typo, I think I meant to say 2. Yeah, they were pretty small, but it was fun to sit out in the salt water. Knowing I was getting rid of my CRT induced white tan, was much less difficult than I thought, in fact, I didn’t even think of what this would do for my reputation as a geek until after the fact, by which time I was already pretty damn pleased with my slightly-more-brown-and-less-white skin.
I took a 2 mile walk up the coast of the beach, to further heighten my sense of ahcievement and good health. I love the beach, a lot. That’s one of the only things (well, besides my friends) that I miss from the City of Angels.
I bought a new pair of flip flops, which made me feel a bit more like a real surf bum, rather than touristy imposter, which is a very good thing, because I am not a touristy imposter of a surfer bum. I suppose I shouldn’t be proud of that, but I guess i’m strange that way.
We stopped by an amazingly nice Borders on the way over to the Grandparents. I picked up that 5-novel-in-one book, aptly named The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide.
And now, I don’t think I have much else to write about, except for the fact that my hair also managed to bleach with the salt and the sun, and that’s something I always love.
Goodnight from the sunshine state.
eon-eight-four indeed.
