After much shopping around and comparing until i was blue in the face, our 802.11b equiptment is finally on it’s way.

I checked ebay, amazon, and outpost. I ended up going with the WAP11 from Linksys for the access point, the WMP11 for the desktop pc on the other side of the house, and the DLink DWL650 for Mom’s laptop.

They should be arriving any day now. My next mission would be to get *my* laptop working. So far I have tried about 3 different linux distro’s and each has had major problems on the first boot after install. I think my next try is going to be Debian, since that’s what harb over at mirrorshades uses. Plus there’s always the fact that he knows the installation procudure like the back of his hand. Maybe i’ll go bug him later.

Last night I wired up some extra speakers we had laying around into the family room. The guy who last owned this house already had speaker corders running from the family room through the ceiling to the corner of the living room where our reciever resides. The last stretch of his cables were dead, but luckily that was the area I had easy access to, so i just ran new cable, and now we are enjoying classical throughout our house.

Shelly and Max and the rest of the family arrive tomorrow. That’s a good thing, as it means lots of slacking, gaming, and eating good food.

Today i’ve got rehearsal from 6 to 10, and we are running the whole show through for the first time. I am crossing my fingers.

Anyway, my room is messy, I am hungry, and there is an abundance of unpleasant tasks piling up on my list. So now i will end this blog, and bid you farewell.

Adieu.
