I observed what I would consider to be one of the most beautiful natural phenomena (outside of the Aurora Borealis, which blows everything else away). Today when I was walking on to the SCC campus from my car, I noticed something that is very uncommon here in the northwest. It had been sunny but as the day had gone on, a cloudcover had passed over the area (N. Seattle). The sky was very dark from the rain clouds that were accumulating heavily over the top of the sky, but on the very edges of the horizon, just above the treetops, was blue sky. The setting sun was shining through the gap and illuminating only the very top of the trees. The appearance of the trees from such lighting made them look as though they had been lit from within and were glowing outwards. It was an astounding sight. I just had to share that, make a note of it before I forgot.
