Malls are the worst thing ever. They bring out the worst in people. Like thanksgiving weekend. Its the biggest shopping day of the year in the united states. That means, millions of americans pushing and shoving, yelling at other shoppers, mumbling profanities under their breaths, taking way more of an item on sale than is appropriate, waiting for hours for a close parking space, driving crazily and general mayhem. It just shows how greedy our society is. Wal-mart made 1.43 billion dollars over the course of a 3 day period. Its so inappropriate for us to gorge ourselves on luxuries with such intent, sudden fervor. While trying to temper my comments against the sentiment of embracing the world, it must be considered that while you sit here reading this, someone dies of starvation and another person of aids. And again….and again…and again…and again. While you rush out to take advantage of that last minute sale on that gorgeous 62″ Mitsubishi plasma HDTV to put in your living room, someone is suffering from food poisoning because of poor food storage. In the time it takes for your credit card to be approved, 10 children died from preventable diseases in less developed countries. I am not saying that you are bad because of your television purchase, its just something to think about the next time you spend so much money on something so frivolous.
