two movies, a soundtrack, an online bookstore, and good memories
So, I just got back from the movies. I saw “Lost in Translation”:http://www.apple.com/trailers/focus_features/lost_in_translation.html this morning, and “Triplets of Belleville”:www.apple.com/trailers/sony/thetripletsofbellville.html –otherwise known as “Belleville Rendez-Vous”–this evening. I liked the scores of both movies, and I love the soundtrack to “Belleville Rendez-Vous”:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000C6I41/104-3054836-7452714. So i’ve just ordered it from “Amazon”:http://www.amazon.com using some Christmas money and a bit of my own.
Back in 96′–when they were first starting out–Amazon ran a contest. If someone wrote the first review for any book on the site, Amazon awarded the writer $100. I entered after some encouragment from Mom, and ended up winning.
I was talking about all of this with Chioke when I realized that–provided they hadn’t completely wiped all reviews during their rise to the top–my review could still be there. I checked, and lo-and-behold, there it was… I will respost it here–typos and all–for your reading pleasure.
bq. This is one of the best books I ever read., June 13, 1996
bq. Reviewer: A reader
This book is about a group of weasels that live on Long Island in the Wainscott Woods. The story is about the life of the weasels. The main characters of the book are Bagley Brown, which is famous for his name because his father built the Double-B which is used for transporting eggs from a farm. After his father made the tunnel he was never seen again because a night owl got him, but only Bagley knew. Zeke is a nice weasel and a good dancer. Wendy is a girl from the north fork. The story is about the many adventures of Bagley. It is a great book with super great illustrations, I am a nine year old boy and I loved this book. –This text refers to the Hardcover edition
And there it is. $100 in free books, and i’m still a loyal customer after all these years. All they need to do now is make an Amazon Music Store with less restrictive DRM (digital rights management), and more selection, and I will continue to love Amazon (almost) as much as I love “Apple”:http://www.apple.com.

Various Artists - Lost In Translation OST
It’s no surprise that ‘Lost In Translation’ would have a cool soundtrack to accompany it. Sofia Coppola’s last picture, ‘The Virgin Suicides’, was scored by Air and her latest has Kevin Shields in charge. Well, not so much ‘in charge’…
