the little things
I am determined to write more here even if it kills me, if only because the chances of that happening are pretty much zilch.
So many of my entries have no focus to them. I know that’s a problem, because I end up having about 13 different little blurbs that are so random that no one could understand how the ideas were connected except me and possibly a few close friends. Must be subconsciously how I like it.
I have to say… as bad as a habit as it is, that I love staying up after everyone else has gone to sleep. There is just something comforting about it.
It’s a rather pleasant surprise when you go to write, initially think you don’t have much (if anything) to write about, and then realize you do.
I’ve seen several movies lately. In order that I saw them, they are Troy, Big Fish, Shrek 2, and Master and Commander. I’d try to rank them, but they’re all good movies in different aspects, so it’s a bit hard. Although I have to say, Big Fish was definitely my favorite. Except the guy who played the son couldn’t act for beans (with the exception of the ending scene), but everyone else was very good, so that can be overlooked.
I have yet to see Harry Potter, which is incredibly sad regardless of the fact that it only opened on Friday night. Ah well, perhaps tomorrow evening, if I am not too exhausted from rehearsal and if I can find someone to go with. Because going to the movies alone is a bit sad, I think.
I am trying incredibly hard to keep this entry coherent and flowing, and it’s almost working… almost.
So Britta has–in a roundabout way–introduced me to “The Magnetic Fields,” which sounds very odd if you don’t know that it’s the name of a band. Interesting stuff. Not sure what I think yet. I think I like it.
I watched a re-run the National Spelling bee this evening on TV. I missed the bit where the boy fainted, but it was interesting nonetheless. Some damn hard words. I’ll admit, part of the reason I watched it was that it have me an excuse to stay up until it ended, and it dragged on quite awhile. The downside to this is that it gave me an excuse to stay up late, when I really should get to bed, get some sleep, and get up early.
And so now, I think I will.

You just know that when you come to visit, we are going to try and out-awake each other every night, and I am going to lose every night. At least I can enjoy the “awake first” feeling, which is almost better than asleep last.
