I have a whole pile of random thoughts. I’d like to have them organized in some way, but I have a feeling that even my best efforts will fail to make them particularly well sorted.

I’d like to pay my respects to Julia Child, who passed away recently. She brought a modicum of refinement to American palates, with her French cuisine broadcast to millions of homes via public television. I will miss her unique accent, especially when she said “chablis”…that was an endless source of entertainment.

And on a lighter note, RSS in Excel…Yes, that’s right, I didn’t mistype that. All you people who type your essays in Excel, and have tried to convert Excel into a web browser can now cheer, because you can use your favorite program to read your favorite RSS feeds. For those of you who are so excited, here’s a direct link to the actual plugin. I don’t know if it works on the macintosh, but I would imagine not.

Since Jesse has visited, I have gained a newfound appreciation for the beauty of this area. I am so glad I didn’t make the mistake of going to a college where there’s no water. There is nothing more relaxing, romantic and refreshing than water. Being able to go to Alki and look out at the sound and downtown and listen to the waves crash against the sea wall, and be able to go to the beach the next day and dig your feet into the sand. There’s nothing quite like it. And going to the lake, while I am sure lakes are nice, they aren’t the same. Granted, Puget Sound is not the ocean, but…its close enough.

I am so used to having an ending here. But it wasn’t working. So now I have nothing. No ending at all. My posts just trail off. Now I know why ending posts is so awkward.
